The flag of the Australian Capital Territory was introduced in 1993. Like the Northern Territory, the flag is not a Blue Ensign. It shows two vertical stripes in blue and yellow, with the Territory's coat of arms placed in the centre of the larger yellow field. Blue and yellow are also the city colours of Canberra. The coat of arms of the Australian Capital Territory was introduced in 1927. It shows – on a blue shield – a silver castle, above it crossed a golden sword and a golden mace and on it a golden crown. Below the castle a white rose. Shield holders are a red-billed black swan and a yellow-billed white swan.
