The flag shows three horizontal stripes in white, blue and green, and the white stripe being very wide. The pattern, which repeatedly separates the white stripe from the blue stripe, is called the Tyumen Crown. It was introduced in the year 2003.

Origin of the Country's Name

"Nenetsia" is in reality named "Autonomous District of the Nenets". Although the Nenets (former named Yurak-Samoyed) are a minority they relish autonomy. "Nenets" means "Human".
